Being a message delivered at the opening of a 3-day workshop on AVR Microcontroller at Microscale office in Kaduna, on July 5 2010. 

It is my pleasure to welcome you to this training program. We hope this will mark the beginning of a long and mutually beneficial relationship between you and Microscale Embedded Ltd.

As a company we are involved in a conspiracy to make Nigeria a producer of high-tech products and services.  Reaching this goal is not something that can be achieved by one company working alone. What is required is a cluster of companies working hand-in-hand with other segments of the society like the universities and government agencies, departments and ministries.

We have decided to take the lead. Our strategy involves:

1.       Use training to spread fundamental knowledge and technologies like Microcontrollers and FPGA. This training is part of this effort.

2.       Acquire specific and relevant technological know-how and make same available to companies, and organizations willing to partner with us. Here we are interested in end-products built based on knowledge already acquired above.

In line with this, we shall in the next few weeks and months, introduce a number of products targeted at Nigerian entrepreneurs and business men. Such products as routers, telephone handsets, cameras etc. our approach is to provide the design, program source code, know-how transfer, and also manufacturing services.

3.       At this moment most of the manufacturing will be done overseas for obvious reasons. But it is our hope that the percentage of the parts manufactured locally will steadily increase to approach 100%. Microscale is willing to help our willing partners acquire technologies and training in this regards.
